Coconut Lamps

This project for Yumma Swami, a South Indian restaurant designed by Mind Manifestation Studio, became an exploration of material and cultural memory. We reimagined the humble coconut shell, an abundant yet often discarded resource, into handcrafted lamps that celebrate its raw beauty. Each piece is carefully cut and composed to reveal its organic texture and warmth. When illuminated, the shells cast a soft, ambient glow, echoing the earthy essence of South Indian spaces. The process was intuitive and experimental, allowing the material to guide the form.
